Finding A New Path or Restoring The Familiar One
In the photograph above, the striking beauty of nature distracts the mind, perhaps pulling it into only the current moment as we all desire at times. Seeing the rich detail, almost being able to smell the foliage, engages us. But in the distance, a glacier moves and melts; and on the right a torrent of water rushes to its purpose of filling the lake. It is the same with the workings of our personal lives, several events unfolding whether we seek them or not. Torrents cannot be ignored, but the glacial impact of persistent stress may be the most powerful. Our struggles in life have innate potency like the forces above that may leave each of us with true distress. The bedrock of our expectations may shift, disorienting even the most confident. A new chapter is always being written whether we fully see it or not. Even the most normal life may succumb to depression, a deep loss of hope, or the anxiety that a typical day cannot be managed. At these times, all of us need the support of family, friends, and sometimes professionally-trained clinicians. If you are experiencing such a time, need help or support, please consider calling for a consultation. (919) 323-8524.
